Matt Ceniceros has extensive experience in executing reputation management programs through the use of media relations and social and digital media.  Matt has worked in agency and corporate environments and currently serves as director of media relations at Applied Materials.

In his current role, Matt is responsible for developing and executing global traditional and social media strategy across the company’s diversified line of businesses. Under his leadership, the media relations function is responsible for communicating corporate activities and developing strategic, multi-channel media programs to support key corporate initiatives around solar energy, manufacturing competitiveness and key technology and environmental policy issues.

Matt also oversees the company’s interactive activities and led the development of the newly designed appliedmaterials.com and enhanced the company’s blog strategy to better tell the global Applied Materials story.

Prior to Applied Materials, Matt was global communications manager of media relations at FedEx and lead strategic communications projects to raise awareness and visibility of the FedEx brand around the world through traditional and non-traditional media outreach. In addition, he developed the strategic direction for FedEx Marketplace interactive channels and blogger relations strategy. The interactive channels Matt managed while at FedEx won numerous industry and marketing awards and garnered other industry recognition.

Matt has also worked for GCI Group, a global public relations agency, serving consumer, corporate and technology clients including Dell Inc., Whole Foods, Shell Consumer and a number of established and start-up enterprise software companies.

Matt is a graduate of Texas State University, with a bachelor’s of arts degree in Communication Studies – Organizational Communications. While in college Matt was president of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and a leader in the Greek and student organization communities and worked as a student representative for Apple Computer.

  4. Hey Matt – cool site. My dad brought home our first Mac too, but (dating myself here) it was a Mac Plus. No hard drive – only small disks with about 100 kb of space. Unbelievable to think of this now!
